THE CAST: Meet Our Caring & Experienced Staff
Dr. Bob Garrison:
Dr. Bob Garrison has lived in the Columbia area all of his life when he wasn’t away at school. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in biology in 1975. His father, Walker Garrison, was a dentist in Columbia and it seemed right for Dr. Garrison to pursue the profession he had been around all of his life. He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry in 1982 and applied for and was accepted to the department of orthodontics at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA (only 2 students are accepted each year). He graduated in 1984, and has been an orthodontist in the Columbia area since then. Dr. Garrison has been in the Lexington area since 1992 and has been active in the community and has been amazed at the phenomenal growth.
Dr. Garrison continues to take great pride and joy in his orthodontic practice. However, he also enjoys tennis, golf, sporting events, traveling and dining out with friends.

Dr. Dan Pennella:
Dr. Dan Pennella has lived in over a dozen states across the country, but is proud to finally settle in South Carolina, and call Lexington his home. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wake Forest University majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Political Science and was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Upon graduation, Dr. Pennella moved to Charleston to attend the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. It was there that he met his fiancée Kate, who also graduated from MUSC College of Dentistry. Dr. Pennella graduated as valedictorian of his dental class.
After dental school, he was accepted into the Medical College of Virginia orthodontic residency program, widely considered one of the top programs in the nation. He received excellent orthodontic training and obtained his orthodontic certification and master’s degree. Dr. Dan Pennella has extensive experience with difficult interdisciplinary cases as a former member of the VCU Craniofacial/Facial Reconstruction Team. His orthodontic training includes Invisalign certification and experience with all of the latest orthodontic technologies.
In his spare time, Dr. Pennella loves to cook, read, ski, and play golf. However, these days there is nothing more he enjoys than spending time with his fiancée Kate and their crazy little miniature pinscher Mynxx. He is thrilled to join Dr. Garrison and his team and looks forward to becoming actively involved in the Lexington community.
