“When I was in middle school, I was very self-conscious about my smile because I had a huge gap between my two front teeth. At first I was reluctant about getting braces, but once I saw my teeth start to shift and my gap close, I became excited about the transformation of my smile. The day I had my braces removed, I knew I wanted to be an orthodontist and pursue a profession where I can use my talent to give someone the gift that I received: a beautiful and healthy smile. I am very passionate about orthodontics, and I am eager to bring my enthusiasm to the Lexington community.”

 

Dr. Dan Pennella graduated with honors (Summa Cum Laude) from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. In 2009, he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he was #1 in his class and served as class president. He then completed his residency program in orthodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond with a Master of Science in Dentistry.

 

When he is not creating gorgeous smiles, Dr. Dan Pennella enjoys playing sports, especially golf, skiing, and football. He also loves to cook and read.
